Toby Woolrych

Toby Woolrych was appointed an Operating Partner of Exponent in 2025, with a particular remit to support the finance functions of Exponent's portfolio companies.

Toby has over 35 years' experience in finance across a wide range of industries.   Having trained with Arthur Andersen, he became Group Finance Director of Medicom International Ltd, a PE backed medical publishing house.  He then spent eight years with Johnson Matthey plc in a range of senior finance and general management roles.

Toby floated and grew Italian fuel cell start-up Acta SpA on AIM before moving on to be CFO of Consort Medical plc.  He joined FTSE250 sustainability company Shanks Group plc in 2012, which relisted as Renewi plc in 2017 following the reverse takeover of competitor van Gansewinkel.   He was appointed CFO of PE-owned aerospace company Ontic in 2022 and took the business through a successful exit process in 2024.

Born and raised in the UK, Toby has an MA in History from the University of Cambridge and is a qualified chartered accountant.
