The story
Lowell Group is one of the largest purchasers of consumer debt in the UK, acquiring and collecting charged off debt from lenders including financial institutions, telecom companies and home shopping credit providers.
Exponent worked with Operating Chairperson Adrian Hill, formerly CEO of consumer lender HFC and General Manager of Direct Businesses HSBC, along with the incumbent management team led by CEO James Cornell.
Exponent chose to invest in Lowell Group due to its position as the most advanced operator within the debt purchase sector, its strong track record and its focus on compliance and treating customers fairly.
Exponent sold Lowell Group to TDR Capital in September 2011 for an undisclosed price.
