Exponent Private Equity (“Exponent”) announces that it has reached an agreement to sell Gorkana Group Limited (“Gorkana Group”) to Cision, a leading provider of PR, social software and insight services, via Cision’s parent company Discovery Group Holdings Limited.

Gorkana Group is a leading media information provider, offering PR and marketing professionals access to customized media intelligence.  The business was created through Exponent’s purchase of Durrants in April 2006 and the subsequent acquisitions of Metrica and Gorkana in 2009 and 2010 respectively, with the combined business being renamed Gorkana Group in 2010.

Commenting on the sale, Chris Graham, co-founder of Exponent, said: “We have worked hard alongside the management team at Gorkana Group to create what we believe to be a unique proposition in the PR market.  I am confident that the business, as part of Cision’s comprehensive offering of products, will continue on its path of growth in new geographies and retain its role as an important service to media and communication professionals.”
