Exponent has joined the ESG Data Convergence Project, which represents $8.7 trillion USD in AUM and more than 1,400 private companies that will share standardized set of ESG metrics.
Having launched in September 2021, the ESG Data Convergence Project allows GPs and portfolio companies to benchmark their current position and generate progress toward ESG improvements while enabling greater transparency and more comparable portfolio information for LPs. Data will be provided on metrics including (i) greenhouse gas emissions, (ii) renewable energy, (iii) board diversity, (iv) work-related injuries, (v) net new hires, and (vi) employee engagement.
The effort encourages private market industry stakeholders to work together to gather better, decision-useful ESG data in order to generate deeper insight into ESG factors and their relationship to financial outcomes, and, ultimately, to drive greater progress on critical ESG issues.
