Investing in a leading provider of telecommunications and power infrastructure services

KTL is an established provider of telecommunications and power infrastructure services, delivering maintenance and upgrade services for mobile network operators and asset owners, and providing overhead line engineering services for electricity network operators across the UK and Ireland. KTL’s end markets require highly skilled engineering and field services, and are facing into rising demand. Mobile telecommunications capacity and resilience is seeing sustained investment, fuelled by rapid growth in data consumption and increasing network density. In parallel, the ongoing electrification of the economy, growth in AI and data centres and increased EV adoption are driving surging demand across ageing grid infrastructure, prompting significant upgrade spend to overhead lines in the power sector.

Exponent acquired the business in 2026 from the founding family and management. We are partnering with the incumbent management team led by Chief Executive Officer, Alan Hanamy, and introduced Operating Partner John Moore as Chair. We will work with the team to invest behind several initiatives, including growing recruitment and workforce capacity,  investing in the business’ commercial functions, strengthening its technical capabilities, and selective M&A to broaden capability and geographic reach.
