Lowell
Lowell acquires portfolios of charged off debt from a wide range of financial services companies and other lenders. It is the leading player in its sector within the UK. The company was created out of Premier Seekers (a specialist customer trace agency) in 2004 and has now bought debt with a face value of more than £6 billion. It grew strongly under Exponent’s ownership, entering new segments such as mail order and communications and capitalising on the strong relationships it had built up with its existing clients.
Exponent backed the incumbent management team, led by Chief Executive, James Cornell and also introduced Adrian Hill, the former Chief Executive of HFC in the UK, as Chairman. Exponent completed the sale of Lowell to TDR Capital in September 2011.
