Immediate Media Company
Immediate Media Company (“Immediate”) is one of the UK’s largest consumer magazines publishers. It was created through a merger of BBC Magazines, Origin Publishing and Magicalia Media Limited. BBC Magazines is home to the Radio Times, one of the most popular magazines in the UK along with many other category leading titles.
Magicalia is one of the leading cross-media publishing assets in the UK and was independently recognised as the UK’s leading specialist digital publisher in 2010 and 2011. Immediate also publishes several magazines in partnership with the BBC through licensing and contract publishing arrangements, which use the BBC brand and content. We believe there is an opportunity to transform a previously under-invested portfolio of high quality print brands into a leading cross-media consumer content business.
Exponent is backing the incumbent management team supplemented by Tom Bureau (previously CEO of Magicalia) as CEO and Stephen Alexander as Chairman. Stephen was previously Chairman of EMI Music and has completed several private equity transactions.
